The first commercial deliveries of the INC-35A (Near Pulser) Continuous INC Module were completed in July 2023. The unit has demonstrated excellent Continuous INC performance, providing users with a measurement closer to the bit, and easy implementation into a standard MWD toolstring.

Azimuth recently undertook field testing of their new XDM-35A and MPU-35A products in the Permian Basin, West Texas. Following thorough in-house qualification, the subsequent field tests were successful in demonstrating the functionality, accuracy and compatibility within a Tensor-type toolstring configuration. Further testing is expected into 3rd quarter 2023 with formal product release in the 4th quarter of this year.

The Near Bit Orientation Module is the latest in a range of Azimuth sensors specifically aimed at advancing the technology of downhole directional measurements for the MWD market.

This sensor provides accurate and repeatable Inclination measurements using the latest in proprietary Azimuth MEMS Accelerometer technology. Packaged robustly in a small footprint (0.75” x 6.0” nom.), the sensor is designed to withstand the rigours of Near Bit shock and vibration.

Once again Azimuth demonstrated its commitment to the North American customers and markets by attending OTC 2017 in the NRG Park, Houston, Texas. As the Oil and Gas community recover from a downturn in activity, Azimuth experienced an exceptional amount of interest in mature and new products introduced throughout the year.

During the exhibition, Azimuth announced two new products under field test, specifically aimed at the North American market. Although these are currently in the early stages of evaluation, results suggest they are providing customers with options to optimise their MWD services otherwise not available on the market.
